When selling a phone online, "Condition" is the most subjective part of the process. One person's "Perfect" is another's "Used." Here is the industry-standard guide to grading.
Flawless / Mint
- Screen: Zero scratches, even under direct light.
- Body: No dents, chips, or scuffs.
- Functionality: 100% working, battery health >90%.
- Basically looks like it just came out of the box.
Good / Excellent
- Screen: May have micro-scratches not visible when the screen is on.
- Body: Minor scuffs or tiny nicks from a case. No cracks or deep gouges.
- Functionality: 100% working.
- The "daily driver" that was kept in a case.
Fair / Cracked
- Screen: Heavy scratches or a single crack.
- Body: Visible dents or significant paint peeling.
- Functionality: Fully working, but looks heavily used.
Broken / No Power
- Screen: Shattered or bleeding LCD.
- Functionality: Buttons don't work, doesn't charge, or is iCloud/Google locked.
Why Grading Matters: If you over-grade your phone, the buyback company will have to adjust your offer once they receive it. Be honest, and your payment will be processed much faster!
